“Poverty Alleviation and Women Empowerment Project through Technology Based Training in Patiya Upazila” at Birkanya Pritilata Trust, Dhalghat, Patiya.

BISAP with the generous assistance of People Republic of Bangladesh. Department of Information and Communication Technology ICT. BISAP has been implementing project on “Poverty Alleviation and Women Empowerment Project through Technology Based Training in Patiya Upazila” since 1st October 2023 to till date with a view to ameliorating basic computer skill to 200  Vulnerable educated youth woman for their growth and development along with ensuring their basic computer skill. Enhancing proper computer knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power, Internet browsing & other technical know-how of computer literacy. The scenario of youth educated poor woman of Dhalghat union in Patiya Upzila is gloomy.

Major hindrances of youth educated poor woman in computer skill in the area is very low. Widespread poverty and high rate of illiteracy are thought to be the root causes. Other causes are lack of opportunity for preparatory training, Mass oriented and universal system of computer training and extending free and compulsory basic computer training to all educated young woman to such stage as may be determined by law, (b) relating computer skill to the needs of the society and producing properly trained and motivated citizen to serve those needs; and (c) removing skill within such time as may be determined by the law. These are essential for creating trained work- force for a nation because training is the basic need for socio- economic transformation and advancement of a country. It is a fundamental right of the human being.

The situation of young educated vulnerable woman of the project area is pitiable. The condition of educated poor woman in the Dhalghat Union in Patiya Upzilla deplorable. Almost all the woman remain unskilled due to poverty, apathy and non availability of computer training facilities within their reach. Considering the said problems for future citizens of Bangladesh, i.e vulnerable educated poor woman of Dhalghat Union. BISAP, launched the programme for imparting basic computer training for the 200 educated poor woman.

4. Specific Objectives

The programme is for imparting basic computer skill training among vulnerable educated young women of Patiya Upazilla.

  • A: To impart basic computer skill training among 200 vulnerable educated young women of Patiya Upazilla.
  • B: To ensure Training material and logistic for 200 Trainees.
  • C: To ensure Training aid supports and Modules among 200 Trainees.
  • D: To ensure proper Training listening and learning about computer skill for improving their computer skill.
  • E: To ensure regular supervision, follow-up, monitoring & reporting for significant achievement.

Location of ICT Training Center: The project is being implemented at Birkannya Pritilata Trust”, Dhalghat, Patiya Upazilla, Chattogram.

Motivation to Community Distressed Vulnerable Educated Young Woman about Imparting Computer Skill Training: After orientation skills training to the community distressed vulnerable educated young woman, BISAP’s official & Computer trainer used to visit door to door in the community for imparting intensive motivation to send their daughter towards ICT Training Center for basic Computer skill. The said motivation was imparted through personal contact, home visit, small group meeting and motivating community leaders and out of enrolment it is revealed that total 200 trainees were enrolled in different batches of training. Out of enrolment it is revealed that community distressed vulnerable educated young woman are interested for basic Computer training of their daughter for their growth and development, transforming them in to human resource and work -force.

ICT Training Materials and Aids for Running the Training Center Of Birkannya Pritilata Trust”, Dhalghat,  Patiya Upazilla, Chattogram. Before starting the training Courses BISAP provided Basic Computer Training Module to the trainees in time for smooth functioning of the training course. Apart from it, training center were properly established before starting the training classes, the said training were accomplished under close supervision of Computer trainer & BISAP’s Official. As a result suitable and appropriate environment were created for imparting qualitative Computer training to the trainees.

Method of Daily ICT Computer Training Class Starting:

The Training start at 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Before starting the training courses trainees and trainers participated in Training Hall daily where trainees and trainers shard & discus previous imparted course details. Afterwards trainees and trainers take oath by raising the hands. During running training courses the trainee’s seat in line in center by batch wise. Thereafter trainers facilitate the trainees in conducting physical 5 training for 20 minutes. Then the  trainees started learning into the Center with discipline. It is noted that during training periods there is 10 minutes tiffin break which facilitate them in elimination of laziness, ensure blood circulation and develop sprit of refreshed mind.

Seating Arrangement of ICT Computer Trainees and Techniques of Imparting Computer Skill Training lass Lesson Presentation by Trainer: BISAP believe that no system of Computer Skill Training is better than that of his Trainer. Accordingly BISAP encourages Trainer to develop their potentialities and efficiency to import qualitative skill training and motivate them towards training center rather than other affairs.

Trainees sit on the Bench in line so that trainer is attracted by all equally. ICT Computer Trainer have to prepare lesson planning, lesson presentation & lesson preparation as per Basic Computer Training Manual. That’s why they prepare weekly Computer Training lesson planning at the computer learning planning register. Training presentation in multidimensional i.e. Introduction to Computer, Different kinds of computer, How to on/off computer, Computer hardware, Input & Output device, Dual mode PC user,

Stored program concept, Motherboard & Connecting Device, Introduction to operating system, How to work operation, Doing work online, How to open Google Email, Create Gmail & Yahoo account, Introduction to Microsoft, Create blank page, Open & Close Office Work, Open, Save, Close File, Print, Print View, MS Excel, About MS Excel, How to open Excel Sheet, system, Create File & Folder, Cut, Copy, Paste, Save, edit, delete & rename file and folder, Typing method, Check Computer configuration, Taskbar uses. One by one reading, chorus reading, use of blackboard, role play, use of materials, System of Bangla & English typing in several method as per convenience of the ICT Computer Trainer to attract the lesson among the trainees. Each Batch period is of 60 minutes. ICT 6 7 Computer Trainer as per routine have to conduct the Batch wise-training presentation systematically, efficiently and effectively so that trainees are attractive to lessons. After class period,

ICT Computer Trainer have to evaluate the lesson in terms of Computer Learning, MS Power Point, How to On/off computer, Windows set up for by Various OS, Typing Method, English, Bangla, Online Typing Other and understanding. Apart from it, ICT Computer Trainer have to perform the assignment to facilitate trainees  for their Home Task Practices. Multidimensional training presentation techniques along with co-curricular activities in the daily routine.

Role of ICT Computer Trainer: The ICT Computer trainer have been playing pivotal role in imparting ICT Computer training attractive lesson presentation, significant administration, supervision and management. He have communicated with the guardian, community elite ,chairman , members teacher and other social workers as well as other government officials regarding ICT Computer training in case of urgency, need and necessity.

ICT Computer Trainer Home Visit to Irregular Computer Skill Trainees ICT Computer Trainer regularly paying home visit to the irregular Trainees for motivating them as well their parents about ICT Computer Training. As a result it is revealed that not only parents but also Trainees are encouraged towards ICT Computer Training.

ICT Computer Training Management Committee There is ICT Computer Training Management Committee in the Center consisting of 5 members where the Birkannya Pritilata Trust Founder President Mr. Pankaj Chakrabaty is the Chairperson. The Committee regularly meets to review the progress and performance of the ICT Computer Training Center as well as ICT Trainer for improving the quality the ICT Skill Training Center. As such social mobilization have to be developed among the Community about the  importance of ICT Computer Training as well as their rights.

Examination Result of ICT Computer Trainees: After completion of 1st Batch ICT Training Course a final Examination was are remarkable the examinations ware held in good environment where the percentage of ICT Computer Trainees attendance quit satisfactory. The ICT Trainer had a strong supervision for the respective ICT examination under close guidance of BISAP monitoring officer. The Trainees Examination Result is appended below:

Distribution of ICT Training Certificate among Trainees: After the 1st Batch ICT Final Examination the 200 trainees have been provided ICT completion course Certificate which made them delighted and potential towards receiving Computer Skill. All trainees certificate where distribute in proper care & attention in presence of trainer, BISAP Official’s founder president of “Birkanya Pritilata Trust” UP Chairman, Member, Community Leaders, teachers & other social elite were present for encouraging and recognizing their deeds and computer skill.
